ALEX JEFF • PERSONAL STORIES
Stories, ideas, health and practical experiments — one evolving world
Alex Jeff is a personal project built from turning points, surprising memories, work with music and technology, experiments with health, books, meditation and practical tools for understanding everyday life more clearly.
Enter through the stories, follow the news, explore the books, and try the practical tools.

THE FIRST COLLECTION
Ten stories to begin with
Not every story needs to be dramatic. A life feels real when serious moments sit next to small frustrations, discoveries, experiments, and things that are funny only because they actually happened.
01 HEALTH • CHANGE

The Day I Decided to Take My Health Back
After a health problem, Alex decided that hoping things would improve was no longer enough. He began changing his weight, movement, exercise and food — and started measuring what was really happening.
02 WORK • STRANGE DAY

The Frightened Man at the Security Desk
A few unusual days. A control desk. A manually operated barrier. Then a colleague approached with a frightened expression — and an ordinary shift stopped feeling ordinary.
03 MUSIC • LISTENING

When Sound Became More Than Music
At some point Alex stopped merely listening to songs and began hearing what was hidden inside them: resonances, balance, frequencies, tiny details — and why expensive equipment still cannot make decisions for you.
04 MUSIC • SLIGHTLY RIDICULOUS
The Song That Was “Almost Perfect”
You finish the song. It sounds good. Then you hear one tiny thing. You fix it. Immediately another thing appears. This is the special form of torture known to musicians and sound engineers.
05 TECHNOLOGY • COMEDY

The Backup That Was Supposed to Be a Backup
The task sounded simple: make a backup, download it, done. Instead came logs, mysterious archives and a long search for the one button that should have simply said: Give me my entire website.
06 TECHNOLOGY • MYSTERY
The Download Counter That Refused to Make Sense
Some downloads counted. Others apparently did not. The number refused to behave logically, turning a small technical question into an investigation involving rules, licenses and audio files.
07 IDEAS • BUILDING

The Website That Refused to Stay a Music Store
Music was only the beginning. Then came jobs, services, volunteering, travel, people helping people and dozens of new possibilities. Eventually the project changed its own definition.
08 DESIGN • HUMAN BEHAVIOR
“Why Is This Button Here?”
If a person opens a page and cannot understand what to do, something is wrong. Building a website slowly turned that obvious idea into a rule: a good interface should explain itself.
09 AI • WORK

When Artificial Intelligence Became a Coworker
AI could save time, create something surprisingly useful — and then misunderstand a very simple instruction five times in a row. It began to feel less like a magic button and more like a very fast coworker.
10 MEASUREMENT • EVERYDAY LIFE
The Things Nobody Teaches You to Measure
Steps, calories, weight, sitting time, activity, sleep, food, work and progress. Numbers became useful not because they were numbers, but because they revealed things that otherwise stayed invisible.
HEALTH TOOLS
Try the calculators Alex used as a way to understand the numbers
These tools are not there to tell a person what to think. They make invisible parts of a routine easier to see: body-size estimates, resting energy, daily activity, sitting time, food, heart-rate zones and long-term trends.
Educational estimates only. Health calculators cannot diagnose illness or replace individualized medical advice.
BODY SIZE
BMI Calculator
Uses height and weight to estimate Body Mass Index. Useful as a broad screening number, but not a diagnosis or a measure of body composition.
ENERGY AT REST
BMR Calculator
Estimates Basal Metabolic Rate — roughly how much energy the body uses at rest before daily activity is added.
DAILY ENERGY
TDEE Calculator
Estimates Total Daily Energy Expenditure by combining BMR with an activity factor. Best treated as a starting estimate, then adjusted from real trends.
MOVEMENT
Daily Activity Calculator
Lets a person describe walking, exercise, work and ordinary movement to build a clearer picture of how active the day really is.
SEDENTARY TIME
Sitting-Time Check
Adds up work, transport, screens and other seated time. The goal is to reveal long uninterrupted sitting blocks and where movement breaks can fit.
NUTRITION
Food & Intake Tracker
A simple daily estimate of meals, portions or calories — designed to compare what we think we eat with what is actually happening over time.
BPM
Heart-Rate Zones
Uses age and a chosen method to estimate training heart-rate zones in beats per minute. It should include a clear note that formulas are approximate.
TREND
Weight Trend Planner
Compares weight over several weeks rather than reacting to a single day. Can show average rate of change and whether the current plan is moving in the intended direction.
The point is not to look extraordinary. The point is to tell the truth well enough that someone wants to keep reading.
More stories can be added one by one as Alex remembers them. Serious, funny, useful, uncomfortable or completely ordinary — if the moment says something about the person, it belongs here.
